Head of Knowledge Exchange for NRP 82 appointed
The SNSF has appointed Christian Heuss as Head of Knowledge Exchange for the National Research Programme "Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services" (NRP 82).
The SNSF Research Council has appointed Christian Heuss as Head of Knowledge Exchange for the National Research Program "Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services" (NRP 82). With a scientific background in neuroscience and academic training in science communication, Christian Heuss worked for more than 10 years as a science journalist and department head at Swiss Radio SRF before holding leading positions in communication at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) and the Swiss NGO SolidarMed. In 2023 he founded his own communications agency in Basel with clients such as the Swiss Alliance for Food Security (Sufosec), the joint SOR4D programme from the SDC and SNSF and the University of Basel.
Within the framework of NRP 82, Christian Heuss will promote the transfer of knowledge and the dialogue between research, politics and society, as well as the communication of scientific findings to a broader public.
Research in NRP 82 will begin in August 2025 with the aim of understanding the challenges and opportunities of biodiversity and ecosystem services. The program will also develop practical solutions for their conservation and sustainable use.
